Inspired by Matthew 11:28 — “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” — The Weight I Don't Carry is about knowing when it's time to lay the load down.
The artwork tells that story without needing many words: a worn canvas bag rests at the foot of the cross, its burden emptied onto the ground. Broken chains, battered work gloves, stone and weathered iron represent the weight we carry through life—and the freedom found in finally surrendering it.
